For every one I can take out of the pile, I seem to add another three. I find so many treasures in my library, and now I can order books for myself from any of the libraries in the state… It’s kind of a dream come true ♥

hi! i was just scrolling through your blog which is just beautiful might i add and was wondering where all your fonts that you use on the blog are from? i just love the curvy one and i am in the process of making a folio at the moment so it would be great if you could help me out :)
thanks xx
Hello!
The fonts I use are learning curve and buttermilk.
Hope that helps :)
Ooh I just finished ‘Tender Morsels’, let me know what you think when you’re done with it :)
I just finished it actually! I really liked it. It was the first book I’ve read in awhile that I couldn’t put down! It reminded me a bit of Neil Gaiman’s fairystories like ‘Stardust’ (which I suppose are in the vein of Brothers Grimm which are also quite brutal at times) because it was so dark in places but still full of lovely moments.
Margo Lanagan wrote another book I love called ‘Touching Earth Lightly’, which isn’t a fairytale but is still very good.
Her writing style is really very beautful isn’t it? I loved the first half of it but found the second half dropped off a little bit – she built up so much tension and so many interesting ideas that seemed to fade out towards the end. Perhaps this is because she writes mainly short stories. I am going to try and look for Margo Lanagan’s other stuff, definitely!
I thought the second half dragged a bit too, but I forgave it because I loved the first half so much. It has been very amusing reading all the outraged reviews of the subject matter on goodreads… Either people are a bunch of prudes who need to get out more, or I am just not easily shocked!
Book envy! The libraries here stock very few English books :(
Oh, that would be difficult! I hope you brought a few favourites to read. At least reading in German will be good practice for you~
Oh, lucky you. Books are such lovely treasures and you get to work with them all day!
Sadly I also have to work with the general public, which is slightly less wonderful! But all of the books make up for it :)
i just found your blog. it is soooo lovely. <3
i worked in a library last year before i had to move states..but it was the best job i ever had bc i got to take stacks and stacks of books home everyday & got paid for basically enjoying my hobby. i am such a book nerd.
now i live in a town with a horrible library..it is so sad. wish people would enjoy libraries as much as i do.
people take it for granted.
(sorry for babbling so much..haha.)
xoox
Hi! Nice to meet you :) I’m so glad to hear you like my blog.
I love being a librarian! As far as jobs go, I think it has to be one of the best. People are (usually) in such a happy mood when they come in~ It’s a shame the library near you isn’t so nice. It’s funny but they can be very hit and miss sometimes (either the collection is bad, or the staff are really surly…). Libraries now are becoming so different! A lot of the time I feel like we are partly a dvd store and an internet cafe as well!
