I’ve always loved reading, and of course being a librarian means I can get a little excited about books. We’ve started building a baby library for Felix, with some lovely baby shower gifts, and some of my childhood favourites ♥
What were your favourite children’s books? I love all of the classics, but it’s been fun discovering new titles too, like ‘I want my hat back‘, and the ‘Don’t let the pigeon…’ series.
Bebe is almost 32 weeks now, which means that it is around two months until he arrives. I’m starting to get very excited! Right now he seems to enjoy hanging out on my right side and digging an arm or foot into my ribs. I’m glad that I have such an active baby, it makes things interesting! (Even if it is a little uncomfortable sometimes…)
At the last antenatal appointment we got to see the birth centre, and B. said ‘it looks like exactly the type of place you want to have a baby’ which is how I felt too. I adore my new midwife and love the model of care, I’m so glad I ended up getting in to the Midwifery Group Practice. From now on my midwife will do home visits for my appointments which is so nice.
We start birth & babycare classes this week too ♥ It should be fun!
I’m loving my growing belly, even if finding things to wear is starting to become more of a challenge. Today I pulled out a dress that I found during a little road trip last year. It’s the last day of summer today, but it has rained all day so I happily celebrated by wearing tights and a cardigan *bliss*
It’s almost the last week of Summer and I am very much looking forward to the seasonal change. I’m daydreaming about what I will do in Autumn…

French toast from Big Table, how I love you so!
- Go out for lots of breakfast dates with B.
- Find the perfect pair of boots- this year I am making a vow to buy nice ones that will last more than a few months!
- Drive to the country to see pretty Autumn leaves.
- Enjoy wearing tights, legwarmers, and cardigans again. (I miss layering so, so much right now).
- Make a little craft project.
- Keep doing yoga once a week.
Oh and…
…prepare for the arrival of this little Autumn baby!
(But that is a whole other list of its own~).
I love the in-between seasons! What are your Autumn (or Spring) goals?
See my Spring and Winter goal lists too~
Dear street art… thank you for making my walk around this suburb a pretty one.
Dear Valentine’s Day… once again we forgot to celebrate you. But all the photos of everyone’s yummy love day treats are making me crave cake in a very big way.
Dear Big Table… I wish I was eating some of your French toast right now :9
Dear coffee… does the pattern on top make you taste better, or am I just imagining things?
Dear Game of Thrones… I am so glad I started reading you, even if every time I turn a page I’m afraid my favourite character is about to meet a grisly end.
Dear baby belly… Hi! It’s nice to finally see you ♥
Dear summer… I liked it better last week, when you were unseasonably cold and I could wear my new knitted jumper.
Dear maternity leave… two months to go! I am counting down the days to you!
Roughly three months left until Bebe makes his appearance. It is so surreal to think that the little flashing dot we saw on the ultrasound screen has grown (and is still growing) into a big baby boy.
I’ve waited throughout my pregnancy for things to feel ‘real’, but I’m not sure if it ever will! I was walking past the big reflective windows that are on my way to yoga class, and I saw my belly and thought ‘oh yes, that’s right, I’m pregnant!’.
I’m still so tiny, but I love this little bump anyway. I’m starting to get very tired and sore after a long day at work, and I’m trying to remind myself to slow down and take it easy instead of powering through like I always do. Aside from having awful, awful heartburn a lot of the time, I’m feeling pretty good, and we’re so happy that this baby is growing well and is very healthy ♥
Last weekend we bought our crib! It took such a long time to choose what we wanted, but it seems like things were meant to be, as we not only got the very last one in the store, but it was also on sale~ If I had an unlimited budget, I would have bought an Oeuf Sparrow crib, but I’m very happy with our choice.
I’ve booked my maternity leave for after Easter, and it’s getting close enough that I’m already starting to count down the days. I’m trying to enjoy work while I’m still there, because I’m sure I will miss it (well, maybe just a little) while I have time off. Morning coffee and my little stowaway co-worker do make the workdays brighter.
