New things

I’m so happy to announce that I can cross one thing off my goal list for this year- I’ve been promoted! I’m so amazed and excited to have this opportunity. Starting from next week I will be part-time, which means set hours, paid leave, and getting to do more advanced librarian things ♥ I’ll just be over here clapping and jumping up and down for a little while~

The best part is my new roster leaves the middle of the week free, so I will have a designated time to work on other things I enjoy, like drawing :3 I’m plotting a new series at the moment with lots of sailing ships and oceany night skies. I’m still undecided if I want to take classes at art school. For now I think instead I will spend that money on art supplies, make a nice playlist and a big jug of iced tea, lock myself in the studio and see what happens!

I inherited a really fancy printer/scanner which I’m hoping will help my efforts to translate sketches to digital versions. I love working in physical media as opposed to using a wacom tablet, but it is really hard to capture how the drawings look in real life. If anyone knows the secret, please share!
