A few weeks ago we went on a little date to the Mortlock wing of the State Library. I think it is so pretty, it makes me think of Harry Potter. I have a special connection to this library, or so I like to imagine. My great aunt was a librarian here, and my great great aunt was named after the Mortlock family who donated the money to build this wing ♥

These books are from the old public library collection. I love that they kept them when that part of the library closed. The chairs and tables are original furniture from the State Library as well.

Trying to be less camera-shy~

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my last post

Isn’t it lovely? The funny thing is that hardly anyone goes there, or knows it exists! It’s like a secret library :)

Omg, your state library is THAT nice!?? no way! Our state library sucks! It’s big but it’s boring-looking.
That place certainly is magical :)

The main part of the library is very modern and not at all like the Mortlock wing. I’m glad there is a little bit of the old library still there :)

That is the most fabulous and magical library I’ve ever seen. How is it not overcrowded with people walking around in awe. And yes, very Harry Potter.

    Loving your blog!
    Muah!

This has to be one of the most gorgeous libraries I have ever seen! I will be graduating from library school in about two months, and I could only hope to work somewhere like this!

How exciting to meet another librarian-in-training! Good luck with the rest of your school. I have finished all of my coursework and should be graduating sometime this year, I’m so excited!

My library is not at all glamorous but one day I hope to be somewhere pretty like this one ♥
