I love the start of a new year, it’s such a good time to be reflective, but also make lots of goals and plans for the future. It feels so nice to have the whole year ahead, full of possibilities~
I’ve been enjoying reading everyone’s year in review posts (if you’ve made one, please share!). 2011 was pretty good to us over here.

In January, I said hello to the new year with a big list of goals. I got promoted to my current job, IT librarian/systems administration, and we continued to settle in to our new house. I took some fun photos, and felt very inspired to create lots of pretty drawings.

In February, B. and I went on love date to the beautiful Mortlock wing of the State Library. I read lots of books, and did some more sketches.

In March I made a pretty chevron feathers artwork for our lounge room, we bought Edith, our Peugeot 206, our first ever ‘new’ car. We celebrated by taking her for a road trip to the hills.

In April, my mum, nanna, and I flew to Melbourne to visit my great aunt. I had a fun time showing my mum around one of my favourite cities. B. and I had lots of coffee dates, and I made a rainbow bookshelf.

In May, I worked on my 26 before 27 goals, and we said goodbye to Autumn with another little road trip.

In June, my photo was featured in the Frankie magazine newsletter! We went to an antique fair, I drew some pretty girls, and started to become addicted to Instagram.

In July, I decorated some photos, we went on lots of op-shop adventures, I drew a portrait for B.’s birthday, and inherited some pretty retro cameras.

In August, we went on a date to a fancy Italian restaurant, I shared five little facts about me, and looked forward to Spring.

In September, we found out that we were expecting our first baby ? With the excitement came horrible morning sickness, so I had a very quiet month that ended with my 27th birthday.

In October, I rested a lot and looked forward to the end of my first trimester. I listened to some records, and painted a portrait for Lo’s blog.

In November, we decorated our house for Halloween, my morning sickness finally went away at 16 weeks and we saw Bebe’s little face for the first time ? We ended the month by taking a very special trip to a new favourite beach.

In December, I finished a knitting project, and reached the halfway point of my pregnancy. We found out that our baby is a boy, and started to get very excited about having a son! We put up our Christmas tree. B. surprised me with a pink iPhone, and we had a quiet but lovely holidays filled with lots of delicious food.
I’m so excited to see what this year will bring. It still hasn’t quite sunk in that we’re going to become parents in just over four months. Things will be very different! But we can’t wait ? I don’t have many goals for this year, just a few little things:
- Keep going to yoga classes
- Try to be organised and tidy around the house
- Stop worrying about little things
- Enjoy the rest of my pregnancy and have a positive birth experience
- Have some love dates with B. here and there
- Work hard at being a great Mama to baby Felix~
I hope everyone has a magical 2012!

Hey Lyndall!
I have a little question to you. :)
I just wanted to ask where you bought this cute little rabbit in the first photo?
Hope you are well!
Have a lovely day!
xx, Sarah
Hi Sarah! The ceramic rabbit was from a cute little boutique here in Adelaide called ‘Bauhaus’, I bought it early last year :)
Thanks a lot! xx :)
