(I’m guest posting over at Lo’s lovely blog today! She very kindly invited me to talk about things that inspire me. Lo is so sweet and makes lots of pretty necklaces. I’m so happy she invited me to write my first ever guest post, it was so much fun!)

It was B.’s birthday last week ♥ He is really difficult to buy presents for, so I decided to draw a little portrait of the two of us as his gift~
I’m so pleased with how it turned out. I’ve been feeling inspired to try a more minimalist style, like this lovely girl’s work. I think I’m finally getting a feel for using watercolours… I’m much more comfortable and familiar with pencil sketching, but I love the effects I can get from painting too.
Happy Birthday to B.! I’m looking forward to celebrating many more together ♥

My name is Lyndall & this is my blog. I'm a librarian and mama to bebe Felix (born 02/05/2012), sharing little snapshots of my life, things that inspire me, love letters, and lots of daydreaming ♥

Oh I love your drawing style! So much character is in the faces, using just a few lines and details, it’s lovely!
(Also, hehe, glad I’m not the only one who turns to art when people are ridiculously hard to buy for *looks at her Dad* xD ) It’s much more personal, though. I’d rather get a portrait than a bundle of soaps!
You’re so sweet! I’m finding that a minimal style suits my skills (I’m really bad at drawing lots of details!). It’s nice being able to draw things as gifts, isn’t it? I often make people cards since I feel like that is more personal than something I’ve bought :)
Awww … that is so cute! I wish I could draw like that …

I discovered your blog today, though I have been following you on tumblr. After looking at many things in your archive, it’s safe to say I really love your blog and I think you’re great. ? [also, as a 26 year-old vegetarian mori-girl, I feel happy to know I'm not alone, though I'm not quite as crafty as you are :)]
Aw, thank you so much for your comment! I really love your tumblr so I’m glad that you enjoyed my blog. Yay for fellow vegetarian, 20-something, mori girl fans ♥

Oh wow, that’s so pretty and cute :) How sweet!
I’ve just had so much fun digging through your site and finding your artwork. I have so much respect (and ok, maybe also a little bit of jealousy) for anybody who can create such beautiful illustration!
Also, you are the only other person I know who has that awesome green jug. Isn’t it cute?
Aw, thank you so much! What a lovely comment ♥
I love the green jug! I think I got mine from Urban Outfitters, back in the golden days when they did free overseas shipping. It drips everywhere when it pours though, but it’s such a nice colour so I don’t mind :)
This is gorgeous! Sweetest birthday present ever! You are so talented x
Aww, thank you so much ♥
