Right now I am in love with crochet blankets. My favourites are the types that look like someone’s Nanna made them.
I’m in the middle of making one to use as a throw rug on our couch. I’m very impatient and want it finished right now, but it’s fun making lots of squares and it will be very satisfying when I finally join them all together. Even if it will be almost Summer and too hot for a blanket by then…
My efforts so far! I’m about halfway there I think. Crocheting a blanket has been on my ‘to do’ list for a long time, and there’s something about moving house which is good for being inspired to start new projects :3
I also made this bow using this tutorial from A Beautiful Mess. I used the sewing machine and it looks much more finished than the one I hand sewed a few months ago.
In other news, I had my fringe cut and then dyed my hair. I ended up with crescent-moon style bangs which I’m really liking! Then I thought I would dye my hair darker… but I didn’t expect it to be -so- dark! Haha. I like it though, and it’s nice having a change!

Oh I’ve always wanted to make a crocheted blanket, but I do lack the patience :) Keep it up! (it’s like a marathon right??) Also, what days are you free? I should ride my bike over sometime when you guys are settled in :)
It really is a marathon! I think it will be really satisfying when it’s done. It hasn’t been too bad, the good thing about granny squares is that since they aren’t joined until the end, you don’t need to haul a half-finished blanket around with you if you want to work on it. Although I think for my next blanket I want to try one where you just crochet it all at once… Maybe!
