My poor herb garden hasn’t been looking so good lately… A lot of the plants were overgrown and attracting too much wildlife (stupid cabbage moths, go away!). So I pruned everything back and now they are much happier, and already growing back in a nicer shape.

It seemed like a waste to throw out the prunings, so I decided to see if I could dry some of the herbs.

Luckily we had some nice hot, sunny days, so the leaves dried quickly. Once they were nice and crisp, I picked the leaves from the stems and put them into some old glass jars I had saved. It was very easy! I think they will be good for putting on home-made pizza :9

Mmm. I love drying our herbs, but usually only get around to the basil, my favorite. Have fun using them throughout the year. :)

Ooh I love basil too! There is a big garden across from us that has basil growing over the fence, I will have to steal some to dry :)
