Hello everyone ♥ I hope you have been enjoying all of the wonderful guest posters I have been featuring. There are more to come! They have been my lifesavers because I have been feeling so, so sick that doing anything has been a huge chore. ‘Morning’ sickness is just awful and it really takes over your whole life.

I’m so thankful that it has *fingers very crossed* started to ease a little in the past week. Some days I still feel horrible, other days I just have a bit of a ‘funny’ feeling in my stomach. Right now I’m finding raspberry cordial and soda water is making me feel much better!

I’m 8 weeks now, and my belly is starting to pop out a little, although I think I’m the only one who notices it! I need to go clothes shopping soon because all of my high waisted skirts and tight in the waist dresses feel very uncomfortable. I’m getting back some of my energy and am able to stay awake past 8pm some nights. And I’ve finally been able to stand the thought of coffee again, so I celebrated today with a little iced coffee from Cibo before work.

Everyone has been asking us if we want to find out the gender, and we do. They don’t do the scan until around 20 weeks so we still have a while to keep guessing. I feel like it is a girl… I suppose I have a 50% chance of being right~

I remember talking to my mother’s belly when she was pregnant with my brother. There is something very magical and sweet about trying to communicate with a baby in a belly.

Aw, that sounds so sweet! I can’t wait until my belly is bigger and I can interact with the baby more! (Right now I am usually just silently asking it to stop making me feel so sick, hehe).

Aww. I hope you’re taking belly pics along the way — you’re going to LOVE seeing how teeny you are right now, even tho I know you feel different! It’s really fun to look back at the 8 week period and go “woh!”

I had the same thing with coffee/tea…could NOT stomach it for a long time. Halfway thru my second trimester I got my taste back and happily chugged it!

Do tell about raspberry cordial?? It sounds like something from Mary Poppins!

I’m going to start taking weekly pictures from 12 weeks! Right now I have a very small belly in the morning and it gets bigger in the afternoon… so I think most of what is showing is my lunch! Haha.

Cordial is what we have in Australia instead of powdered stuff like Kool Aid, it’s like that but it’s liquid you mix with water. I have this which is very fancy and tastes so nice, I love these ones too. It does sound very Mary Poppins, doesn’t it? :)

Being pregnant is making me into a Nanna! Actually I think my Nanna probably stays up later than me. Everyone is telling me to get all the sleep while I can, so maybe that’s what my body is doing? Hehe!

It’s exciting to hear how you describe these experiences! I don’t really know much about pregnancy, and I’ve rarely spoken with anyone during her pregnancy, so this is very insightful and fascinating to me. :D

I like that photo, heehee. :D What shoes are those, by the way? They look nearly identical to a pair of vintage Joan and David wingtip shoes that I have.

Aw, thank you! My shoes are just slip-on boots with flat soles that I found in a local shoe store. I’m getting the most out of them before the weather gets warmer :)

I know that feeling all too well. For one of my pregnancies I couldn’t stand the smell of my husband and eating was a real chore. I couldn’t drink water either…it is funny though how quickly you forget it and only when reading someone else’s experience do you remember it all.

Keep sleeping a lot, it is the only thing that seems to help.

    1. Lyndall on 27.09.2011 at 01:25 (Reply)

I’m sure I will forget it all once it’s over! Even now when I’m having a good day I can -almost- forget what it feels like when the sickness is really bad. I’m lucky I haven’t been too sensitive to smells, but my tastes for different foods change so quickly! If I’m craving something I’ll do my best to eat it because I’m so happy to feel excited about food, even if it’s just for a moment!
